Verizon

Verizon’s Limerick site alone has contributed approximately 1800 volunteer hours by 300 volunteers between January 2025 and December 2025.

The Limerick site provides many opportunities for volunteering under their dedicated Volunteer Portal.

These volunteers have collaborated with a wide array of local Irish non-profit organisations including but not limited to; BirdWatch Ireland, Enable Ireland, Irish Blood Transfusion Service, ISPCA, Limerick Animal Welfare Ltd., Volunteer Ireland, Barnardos, Alone and Novas, further demonstrating a broad and inclusive commitment to community well-being that touches every corner of the Mid-West.

Some highlights of this volunteer work include:

  • Their work with Junior Achievement Ireland (JAI) has helped bridge the digital and educational divide. By providing role models, Verizon’s Limerick site has directly benefited 564 students across various schools in the Mid-West.

  • Their hands-on support to The Haven Hub CLG—including painting, DIY and assistance with website and CRM setup, was instrumental in helping them establish a new facility for suicide prevention and mental health support.

  • They have also partnered with Simon Community, with a focus on maintaining common areas and gardens of their Family Services Hub.

  • Further their volunteers have supported homeless charity Novas in providing services including offering hot meals, a kind word, and critical support to people experiencing homelessness.

  • Multiple employee teams also took to the streets of Limerick throughout the year to participate in litter pick-up volunteering initiatives.

Verizon’s purpose is inherently inclusive and this is reflected in the workplace and how it engages with communities and customers. This commitment to inclusion is a core component of the company's identity.

Verizon’s Limerick hub reinforces this global commitment locally through a variety of programs. Within the workplace, this includes the active support and promotion of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) which foster a culture of belonging and provide professional development for diverse talent.

Verizon also maintains Strategic Partnerships by being a primary and active partner in the EQUALS Her Digital Skills initiative, contributing significant resources toward a goal of providing digital skills training to one million women and girls by 2026, a mission supported by ""V Teamers"" who have volunteered over 2,000 hours globally.

Verizon also maintains a strong external focus on inclusion, evidenced by the Verizon Small Business Accelerator program which provides support to underrepresented communities, including 51% women-owned businesses.
