Paul Kelleher
Paul Kelleher is Vice President of Engineering for QT Technologies Ireland Limited (Qualcomm Ireland). He joined Qualcomm Ireland in June 2015 as the first Global SoC Engineer at the office located in Cork, Ireland.
Paul has over 30 years of experience in the electronics industry, having previously worked with Cypress Semiconductor, Powervation, Freescale/Motorola, Canon Australia, and S3 (Philips). His roles have included Chip Lead, Design Manager, DigRF System Architect, MIPI Member, and both Front-End and Back-End Designer.
He played a pivotal role in establishing the first design team at the Cork site, serving as both team lead and design manager. Under his leadership, the engineering team has grown to over 750 engineers and continues to expand. The site now hosts numerous teams with diverse skill sets contributing to all SoCs within the Global SoC portfolio (e.g SnapDragon, Dragonwing).
Paul has a strong track record in building new teams, providing leadership, and making significant technical contributions to Global SoC projects and site operations, including recruitment, finance, legal, and logistics.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics from the University of Limerick, Ireland and is deeply committed to advancing education and industry collaboration. In addition to his industry role, Paul is actively involved in academia. He holds Adjunct Professor appointments at both University College Cork (UCC), 2024, and the University of Limerick (UL), 2025. Additionally, in late 2025, Paul was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Engineering by University College Cork.
At UCC, he is affiliated with the School of Engineering and Architecture within the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science, while at UL, he contributes to the Department of Computer Science & Information Systems in the Faculty of Science & Engineering.
Paul also plays an important role in shaping the future of Cork through his involvement in the Cork Steering Group for the Cork Docklands development initiative. His commitment to regional development reflects his passion for creating sustainable urban environments and driving collaborative projects that benefit both businesses and local communities.”
With his role as Vice President at AmCham Ireland beginning in January 2026, Paul will contribute to advancing the organisation’s mission of fostering strong business relationships and promoting economic growth.
