Cairdeas Award

Winner of AmCham’s 2026 Southern Cairdeas Award is Cork Stroke Support

Cork Stroke Support CLG is a community‑based registered charity, dedicated to supporting stroke survivors and their families across Cork. Since our establishment in 2011 we have focused on bridging the gap between hospital discharge and long‑term recovery by offering practical advice and addressing social, emotional, and physical needs.

Our dedicated Stroke Support Centre in Blackrock provides vital information, nurse follow-up, physiotherapy led exercise, counselling, peer support, education programmes and a range of activities that facilitate social engagement and enhance recovery.

Our vision is simple: Fewer Strokes and better lives for stroke survivors and their families.

Those who engage with Cork Stroke Support services describe it as an important lifeline.

Our Mission states that ‘We will provide support, encouragement, information, exercise and enabling activities for stroke survivors and their families and represent and respond to their needs’.

With limited resources, Cork Stroke Support are grateful for funds received and strives to increase supports for those affected by stroke. There are no geographical boundaries to services provided which are outlined on our website www.corkstrokesupport.ie.
