Southern Conference and Dinner

Welcome

We are delighted to welcome all of our guests to today’s Southern Conference and Dinner hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland.

We would like to extend our gratitude to our Guest of Honour, Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Michael McGrath, who will deliver a keynote address to our members this evening.

We would also like to thank our sponsors Zurich, who have offered tremendous support for this year’s Southern Conference and Dinner.

Today’s event is the first large-scale gatherine of our members in this Region since the inset of the pandemic. We are delighted that AmCham's Southern Conference will serve as an exclusive opportunity for AmCham members to meet and connect with their industry colleagues in the Southern region. It will be an excellent opportunity for networking and an exchange of insights.

The Conference will include a fireside chat, reacting to Budget 2023. The discussion will feature Seamus Coffey, economist, lecturer in the Department of Economics at UCC, and Chair of the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council from 2016 to 2020. Coffey will be joined by Gretta Clerkin, Senior Tax Director at PepsiCo and Chair of AmCham’s Tax Taskforce. Their discussion will focus on Budget 2023, published on September 27, sharing thoughts and initial reactions with each other and our guests.

The Conference will also include two panel discussions namely: Talent and Regional Development, and Sustainability and Innovation. Our panellists will provide their thought leadership and industry insights on key regional challenges and opportunities for AmCham members in the Southern region.

This evening, AmCham’s Southern Dinner will take place in the Maryborough Hotel. We are thrilled to have Minister Michael McGrath joining us as Guest of Honour for the Dinner after what has been an extremely busy week for his Department. We are delighted that AmCham President Catherine Duffy will also deliver a keynote address.

The President's Dinner is kindly sponsored by Zurich and will also feature some great live music. This event promises to be the largest gathering of multinationals and their guests across the Southern region in 2022.

AmCham would like to thank all of our members for their continued support.

We hope you enjoy your day!

Mark Redmond, CEO
