Criostoir O’Reilly, Head of QCares Cork (Qualcomm Cares) Committee, Cork Office
Criostoir is a steering member of Qualcomm’s QCares Committee in Cork, through which he bridges Qualcomm’s global CSR strategy with the needs of Irish communities.
Under his leadership, the Cork QCares committee has supported a wide range of organizations across Ireland, including Pieta House, Laura Lynn Foundation, Epilepsy Ireland, Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind, Down Syndrome Cork, Enable Ireland, Cork Simon Community, Irish Cancer Society, and many more. These charities span critical areas such as mental health, medical research, homelessness, disability support, and education.
Since 2020, Criostoir has overseen annual contributions of approximately $70,000, totalling over approximately $350,000 to date, distributed amongst 3-4 chosen charities in each respective year. These funds have enabled organizations to achieve tangible goals—from expanding services for vulnerable populations to funding life-changing cancer research. This measurable impact demonstrates how U.S. corporate philanthropy can deliver real benefits to Irish society.
Criostoir has mobilized employees, fostered volunteerism, and built relationships with local organizations.
Criostoir inspires the almost 800 employees in Qualcomm’s Cork office to volunteer their time and make a real impact. He is also a driving force behind the Intern Volunteering Day, helping instil the value of giving back to the community among our interns. Earlier this year, the Crann Centre proudly served as the beneficiary of this initiative.
Criostoir actively promotes openness and accessibility within QCares Cork. Anyone who wishes to join the committee is welcomed—there are no barriers to participation. This inclusive approach ensures that employees from all backgrounds can contribute ideas and help shape charitable priorities. When selecting charities to support, Criostoir goes further by issuing site-wide callouts for suggestions, encouraging every employee to have a voice in the process.
Through these efforts, Criostoir has fostered a culture of belonging within Qualcomm Ireland and strengthened the site’s reputation as an inclusive and socially responsible workplace. His leadership demonstrates that inclusion is not just a principle, but a practice embedded in every aspect of community engagement.
